It was a FUN day on the slopes of Brimacombe today. From the Match and Win and Family races to a meet and greet with Matt Morison, we welcomed March with another fantastic day on the slopes.
The Toronto Ski Hawks joined us today for their annual visit and as is tradition the Bowmanville Lions Club hosted a BBQ Lunch! Federal MP Erin O'Toole was on hand as well. Welcome to all, we hope you enjoyed your day with us!
Matt Morison was at Brimacombe today to say hello and present a cheque to Leah Sanders of the Canadian Association of Disabled Skiers - Durham Chapter. Brimacombe raised $1949 in honour of Matt on his Olympic race days -Feb 19 and 22, 2014 to support future winter athletes. The total raised was split between CADS-Durham and Making Winter Winners

PACE PENGUIN was touring the slopes today, he just wrapped up his 8 week lesson program and learned a TON of stuff. It was not long ago that he put on skis for the first time and now he is comfortably skiing the Blue runs! He knows that even though he has built up a lot of confidence in his abilities over the season, he still has to work on his control so he has decided to stick with the trails he is comfortable with instead of charging right onto the Black Diamonds! PACE has heard that sometimes little penguins (and even their parents) get a little too confident at this point in the season and go places that they may not be ready for. Skiing or snowboarding within your abilities is very important not only for little penguins but also for others that may be faster or not expecting to see less skilled sliders on advanced runs.
PACE loved little penguin Owen's hat!
Pace gives little penguin Conrad a big hug for doing so well on his skis today!
SunRype juice was at the Brim today...PACE thought it was pretty good stuff (they will be here tomorrow, Sunday March 2 as well)
PACE also welcomed a bunch of new members who joined up today on the first day of our March Membership Promotion.

It's not often I get blown away by graphics on a ski, but Skilogik has done just that with their "Grateful Dead" commemorative ski. It may be the Deadhead in me but these skis are beautiful. Skilogik's line is all wood with wood inlay graphics...and they are NOT just good looking, they ski amazingly well too! We carry Skilogik at Slopeside Skis and Boards here at Brimacombe...you can even demo a few pairs before you buy them! (The Grateful Dead ski is available but not in stock as they are a limited edition ski)
Stop by Slopeside Skis and Boards, ONE location only, at the BASE of Brimacombe (access via gate 4) where every dollar spent here stays here at our Not-For-Profit business.
We still have lot's of "season" left, so come on out and leave your winter blues on the couch.
It's been another day in paradise,
Cheers,
Mark
