The Big question...What did the rain do to the slopes of Brimacombe?
Our snow fared well considering it rained hard throughout the night Sunday and for most of the day Monday. You might think that we have little but mud and grass left, but this simply is not the case...our front lawn is WHITE AND SNOWY!
Here's the proof, these photos were taken late this afternoon (Jan 26, 2010)
Now, that's not to say we didn't have some negative effects. We are experiencing some wet spots across our terrain, these will dry up as the water drains away and the temperatures drop. A few areas are getting thin, but we hope to resolve this over the next couple of days when the temperatures drop and snow making can begin again. All in all, the hill still looks good and we have not lost any of our open terrain. Those that were out today commented that the conditions were good ("better than they thought").
It's been lightly snowing on and off here all day, and another grooming will improve the conditions that much more...don't let your front lawn fool you, come see for yourself!
Cheers,
Mark
