IF THERE EVER WAS A DAY....

TODAY was the day for skiing and Snowboarding at the Brim!  The SUN the SNOW and the SMILES are what makes our teams efforts all worth while, we received loads of positive comments today and we truly appreciate every one of them. If you spent the day curled up with your couch, watching TV - well you missed out! Break up with that thing... you never really liked it anyway!

The PEE WEE SKI CAMP began today and loads of little ones hit the slopes...many of them for the FIRST TIME EVER! This program is designed to introduce new skiers to not only the sport of skiing but also to the slopes of Brimacombe...our goal is to spark a life long love of skiing in these kids while giving them an opportunity to meet up and make friends with other kids their age and skill level. Our Pee Wee Ski Camp councillors guide their groups through basic safety skills while having fun at the same time.

Here are a few shots of what went on in the Pee Wee Ski Camp area this morning;

(please note, all photos in today's blog were taken by Laura Blaker)

These next photos were actually taken yesterday (Jan 25, 2013) but are more proof in pictures that the conditions are FANTASTIC here at the Brim!

Snow making continues however at this time we will be concentrating on building the base depth on the terrain already open in order to ensure we have ample snow to work with in the event of another adverse weather event.

It's important to note that our abilities to regain our conditions and quickly build on our open terrain have been an almost direct result of our major snow making pond expansion this past summer! It's something that most people never see -a behind the scenes part of our operation- but it's proof that your commitment to invest in your club, whether it is your membership, food purchases, lessons or even just shopping in YOUR store (Slopeside), is paying off for everyone! Thank-you!

PACE PENGUIN

If you are 8 years of age or younger (or you are a parent that has kids that age) stop by any ticket office or our Main Office in the East Chalet and pick up your PACE PENGUIN safety package for FREE!

Brimacombe is pleased to be taking part in a pilot safety initiative called PACE PENGUIN.

The objective of this program is to help reduce the risk of injury to young children in downhill sports by educating children, parents and fellow skiers/snowboarders.

This program is designed to not only address several of the known risk factors for children, but contribute to an overall positive experience for families. Early research indicates the PACE program has outstanding positive influence on parents’ resort selection. By helping children to have a safe and fun experience, we hope that today’s "little penguins" will grow into safe, dedicated life-long skiers and snowboarders, who will in turn, introduce their children to downhill sports.

A special THANK-YOU to the Brimacombe Volunteer Ski Patrol for their assistance in implementing this program.
